On a beautiful day at the end of September, Cervia welcomed over 1800 athletes for the start of the fourth edition of the Supersapiens IRONMAN Italy Emilia-Romagna which marks the return of IRONMAN to Italy after last year’s forced stop. Competition dedicated to age-groups who have not disregarded the expectations of the public present on the free beach of Cervia.
Rolling start, as usual, saw the athletes enter the water staggered before tackling the first 3.9 km of swimming in the warm and calm waters of the Adriatic Sea. In less than an hour, the first male athletes came out of the water, followed closely by the first women.
Ready to tackle the 180 km by bike in the Romagna hinterland supported by the completely celebrating public once they reach Forlimpopoli and Bertinoro.
Back in Cervia, the athletes faced the last leg of the race in the heart of Cervia and Milano Marittima.

The arrivals will follow one another all day and the great conclusion will be in the late evening to welcome up to the last athlete on the red carpet by uttering the fateful phrase “You are an IRONMAN”.
