Pau Hana: 2024 Vinfast IRONMAN World Championship – Wednesday , October 23

Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i (October 23, 2024) – The 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship triathlon is just three days away as male professionals and age-group athletes eagerly wait for race day on the Island of Hawai`i. In preparation, athletes having begun checking in and taking part in the pre-race festivities in Kailua-Kona. Today we shine a spotlight on the AG1 Live Aloha Coffee, Athlete Check-in, and the IRONMAN Village, along with a recap on the Legacy Reception, IRONMAN Pro Series Panel, and Insider Tips sessions that ran throughout the day.

IRONMAN Pro Series – Memorable Moments to Date 

The inaugural IRONMAN Pro Series has been embraced by hundreds of professional triathletes who have toed the line at races across the world, and thousands of fans have tuned in to watch the live broadcasts or witnessed the fast and dynamic racing in person. Today, at the IRONMAN World Championship Village, some of the top performing male triathletes in the IRONMAN Pro Series including Arnaud Guilloux (FRA), Jackson Laundry (CAN), Bradley Weiss (ZAF), Andre Lopes (BRA), Paul Schuster (DEU), Robert Kallin (SWE), Stenn Goetstouwers (BEL), Gregory Barnaby (ITA), and Trevor Foley (USA), shared their thoughts on the series so far, their most memorable moments, and which races they are most excited to tackle on the 2025 IRONMAN Pro Series calendar.  A full replay of the Pro Series Panel can be viewed on the IRONMANTri YouTube Channel. (Photo Credit: Donald Miralle/ IRONMAN)

Legacy Reception

428 legacy athletes were invited to attend the IRONMAN Legacy Reception at the Hulihe`e Palace this evening.Acknowledging their commitment to IRONMAN and celebrating their achievements over the years, athletes heard from Scott DeRue, CEO of The IRONMAN Group, and IRONMAN legends including Craig Alexander, Paula Newby-Fraser, Mark Allen, Fernanda Keller, and Kathleen McCartney. The IRONMAN Legacy Program was introduced in 2012 as a way to recognize and reward IRONMAN’s most loyal and dedicated athletes. Through the IRONMAN Legacy Program, athletes who have never competed at the IRONMAN World Championship have an opportunity to earn a special slot to compete in the world’s most prestigious triathlon event.

IRONMAN Foundation

42 IRONMAN Foundation athletes will be racing in Saturday’s race IRONMAN World Championship event. The IRONMAN Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to create  positive, tangible changes in race communities through grants and volunteerism efforts. Athletes Check-in and Check Out Swag

Hundreds of athletes visited the Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel today as Athlete Check-in was in full swing. After officially checking in and picking up their race day bags and bibs, athletes headed down Ali`i Drive to the IRONMAN Village at Hale Hālāwai to check out the exclusive VinFast IRONMAN World Championship merch and sample a range of goodies and product including AG1, HOKA, Mortal Hydration, Maurten and much more. Pre-Race Press Conference Reminder
The professional athlete press conference will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday 24, at the Lu’au Grounds, King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel. Ten of the top male professional triathletes racing at the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship in Kailua-Kona will speak to the competition, course, and preparation ahead of race day. For those keen to watch from home a livestream of the press conference will be available at proseries.ironman.com.

“A Fighting Chance” 
A new episode of ‘A Fighting Chance’ dropped on @ironmantri social channels yesterday, featuring Sam Laidlow, Kristian Blummenfelt, Gustav Iden, Magnus Ditlev, and Rudy Von Berg. Another episode will drop tomorrow and will feature Lionel Sanders, Matthew Marquardt, Braden Currie, and Patrick Lange.
