Pau Hana: 2024 Vinfast IRONMAN World Championship – Friday , October 25

KAILUA-KONA Hawai`i (Oct. 25, 2024) – In less than 12 hours, the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship will be underway, so today was all about final race preparations, including gear and bike check-in. Last night, athletes attended the E Komo Mai Banquet, where they enjoyed a warm Hawaiian welcome and local food. 

E Komo Mai Banquet 

Aloha & E Komo Mai to all athletes on Thursday evening for the E Komo Mai (welcome) banquet. The evening brought together athletes and supporters from all over the world to celebrate those are set to compete in the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship. Entertainment entailed cultural performances, engaging speeches from The IRONMAN Group CEO, Scott DeRue and Senior Vice President, World Championship Events, Diana Bertsch as well as inspiring video presentations.

Race Day Ready 
Over 50 professionals and 2,400 age group athletes make their final preparations to compete in the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship as they check their bikes & gear into the iconic transition area on Kailua Pier. Former racing car driver and double amputee, Billy Monger brings his bike into check in ahead of Saturday’s race. Monger will be raising vital funds for Comic Relief, a major UK charity while competing in the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship triathlon.

The world’s top male professional athletes are set to go head-to-head at the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship on Saturday, October 26 in Kona, Hawai’i. Live race day coverage will be broadcast across multiple platforms for global viewers including proseries.ironman.comDAZNYouTubeOutside TV exclusively for the U.S. and Canada, L’Équipe Live in France, and ZDF in Germany.   • 5:00pm – Pro Men Post-Race Press Conference  
  • 12:40am – Anticipated Final Finishers
